Balogh commitment on RoHS

Balogh, the RFID leader since 1978, pioneer in the development and manufacturing of contactless identification systems and inductive proximity sensors, confirms its commitment on RoHS

With the ever-growing mass production of electronical and electrical products whose life cycles are getting shorter and shorter, the need for legalising environmentally-friendly products has become more than crucial.

The EU directive on RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances), which aims at limiting the amount of hazardous chemicals used in production will be effective from July 2006, 1st onwards.

The WEEE Directive (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which covers the recyclability of equipment, is being launched around the same time in the European Union. The WEEE Directive points to raise the level of recycling of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and encourages manufacturers to create products with recycling in mind, which imply an opportunity to reduce costs related to collection and treatment.

As a designer and manufacturer of contactless identification systems, Balogh has raised an early awareness on this concern for a long time already.

Fully committed on RoHS and WEEE, Balogh has been building up a set of policies mainly grounded on compliant alternatives (substitute products) and customer support to eliminate any inventory shortage.

Balogh, RFID leader since 1978 and pioneer in the development and manufacturing of contactless identification systems, started out almost 50 years ago manufacturing Inductive Proximity Sensors, which then lead to the development of the first Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag in 1978.
Since then Balogh has grown and expanded operations and RFID technologies to become the Balogh Group with offices & manufacturing in Europe and the United States, and distribution (partners) around the world.
The Balogh RFID product line consists of a wide range of RFID tags, Transceivers (Antennas), and control interfaces adapted to a large number of applications: Manufacturing, Logistics, Security & Access control, Vehicle identification & Railway.
Balogh philosophy is to be a specialist providing the right RFID technology to meet our customers’ needs. These technologies include: 2.45GHz, 13.56MHz, UHF 800-960 MHz, 125 KHz, Infrared, and Balogh Industrial RFID products.
